Images & Words ~ Week 127 ~ Bricks & Mortar

Welcome to this weeks Images & Words.

I wish to thank Lynda for hosting here last week. I hope that she and her husband had a great Celebration Together.

This week I am inviting you all to submit anything you have that is to do with Bricks and Mortar.

Another thought I wish to pass by you all is whether or not you would like to do a special photo for 11/11/11 next month?

Last Year we did the 10/10/10 date and it was a fantastic experience for us all to view this auspicious date as seen through the lens of your cameras. If you like the idea of doing this again I am happy to collate all the photos submitted. Just indicate your preference in the comments section below. Also any ideas that you might have can also be discussed here too.

If you love Images & Words why not invite your friends to participate with us.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the 11/11/11 and seeing your Bricks and Mortar posts for this week

Cheers From Milli x

Images & Words 122 ~ Eyes ~

Welcome to Images and Words this Week coming to you all the way from Australia.

Today was Father's Day here is Australia and I would like to wish

The Fathers of The World a Very Good Day.

I have chosen a theme this week that hopefully will get everyone involved on some level

Because you see (Excuse the pun here) The Eyes have it this week.

Make your photo a photo about any sort of eye or if you can do it you could make your photo a fish eye view if you have that option on your camera. Then couple the photo with a quote that fits your photo well.

Have fun because this is what we aim for here on I&W and Eye will get to See your I&W as soon as Eye possibly can do so. he he.

Enjoy!

From Milli.

Also Thanking Virginia for Hosting last week. It was a Fun theme which we all enjoyed.
More Guest Hosts Coming soon.

Images & Words 114 ~ Free Expression

Hi and Welcome All Intrepid I&W Members.

This week is All up to You. The theme chosen is 'Free Expression' which means, use any Image of your own and personalise it by adding your very own quote or words, not a quote or words by someone else.

Thank You Wayne for being our guest host last week and to all who posted for Wayne's challenging theme.

We will be asking members to host on a regular basis so watch your Multiply in-box for an invite to host a future I&W.

I would also like to acknowledge Randall's eye catching and brilliant banner now gracing our I&W site. It looks fantastic Randall. Thank You.

Free Expression

Congratulations to all the finalists in the New Banner Top Ten Poll.

Wayne's fantastic banner and the most popular banner of the ten chosen by Joel, is now our new header photo and profile image.

Big! Congratulations! to Wayne and also to Randall a very close and worthy second place. Belita's banner did a fine job of holding third position in the poll.

Images and Words Week 100

Milli here and I am privileged to have week 100 as my turn to be the hostess.
Before I start I wish to thank the other Admins of this fabulous Group, which started nearly two years ago and has become such a favourite each week for so many of us keen I&W members.
Joel, Mia, Amy and our talented guest hosts and hostesses your efforts and magnificent weekly themes have been of so much inspiration to us all.
The group has seen some exceptional posts this past 100 weeks with accompanying quotes fitting like the proverbial glove.
I would like to also acknowledge the new banner for April courtesy of our Host with, 'The Most Amazing Eye for a Perfect Capture'..Joel.
I love the new banner it makes me want to do some serious sea gazing from a unique vantage place, like the old chair, as soon as I can.

Week 95 Images & Words ~ Something A Bit Different.

                   Hi And

        A Big Welcome To All,

On this warm Sunday evening from my part of the world, Australia.

So much has been happening this week across the globe which has tried and tested many good folks.

To all our Kiwi Cousins and others affected, I would like to express our sympathies for the tragic losses incurred in Christchurch and surrounding areas resulting from the devastating Earthquake and Aftershocks.

This weeks I&W Number 95 is titled

Something A Bit Different.

Basically what I want to see from everyone this week is one of your more unusual photos, a photo of maybe a subject that you would not normally set your sights upon, used as your I&W and then either write a quote for the photo or use one that fits the bill from elsewhere.

The photo I used here is taken of a snake that was sleeping on a limb while it's newly shed skin was hanging there below it.

The subject matter is Not at all in my usual mode of photographic captures however I have stepped out of my comfort zone and used the photo and the quote, which was written by an unknown author, as my choice here this week for the theme.

Have fun and most of all enjoy your I&W theme this week and also take notice that we are in week 95 already and week 100 and our anniversary is creeping up again soon. We will be having a few surprises in store in the coming weeks of I&W so please all keep happy and safe and stay tuned.

Cheers To All

Milli.

Images and Words Week 90 ~ Our Flower Show

Good Day to All the creative members of Images and Words.

This week I thought we might brighten up the world with a colourful and beautiful flower show.

Even if you don't have too much on offer around you at the moment you must have some beautiful flower photos and accompanying flowery words to offer up in a quote. Either your words or those of another.

What I am wanting here is a colourful surprise on each and every post

Truly Beautiful

Flower Show.

So let's get to work and allow the powers of beautiful flowers, to transform our world.

Looking forward to visiting everyone who posts this week and hoping a few of those who have been quiet of late will join us all again soon.

Cheers From Milli.

Images & Words 85 # Let There Be Light!

Welcome to Images & Words this week coming to you from Australia.

I thought as this will be the post before Christmas that we might use the festive lights we see around us as a base for our theme this week. I have used a candle because of the ambient light it sheds ever so softly on all that is placed nearby. Your task is to either light a candle or candles and play around with different angles for lighting purposes until you find your desired effect or if you have another idea for a festive light image by all means use that. Choose a quote or write your own quote and let us join together and spread the light across Multiply.

Thank you Laurie for your fun two part theme last week.

Have Fun and Enjoy your Festivities in the Coming Week.

Light, Love and Peace to All.

Milli.

For the Ambient effect on my photo I did not use my flash. I let the candle do the lighting.

Images & Words Week 80 ~ A Small Dose of Humor

Hello to All

Milli here this week and the theme is

A Small Dose of Humor

Your task this week is a fun one. All you need to do is find a suitable photo and inject a small dose of humour into it, by using your own words or those of another.

My photo was taken on Thursday at the local wild life sanctuary where I was able to get up close and personal to many of the wonderful native birds, reptiles and animals living there.

I was playing hostess to a special little teddy bear called Max. If you wish to see more Koala photos in amongst the photos taken of Max whilst he stayed with me in Australia please check out my link below.

Max is from Nebraska and is touring the USA and other parts of the world via special hosts and hostesses. MJ has had him visit South Korea and Luxy has had him stay with her in St Augustine. He is now on his way to Pat in Switzerland and I believe he will be staying with more Multipliers in the future before he goes back home to teach the children in his Middle School all about the places he has visited.

My Link is here for anyone who wishes to read about..

Max the Little Goodwill Bear's Journal in Aus.

Have a Great Week Everyone

Cheers from Milli.

Images & Words # Week 54 ~ Photography

Photography

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything" Aaron Siskind quote

Hi to All the I&W participants and guests.

This week I have thrown open the door for the theme of photography and knowing as I do that you are as passionate about your photography as I am, I welcome you to submit your photo of choice with words or a quote about the chosen photo to fit this theme.

I have chosen a photo from my visit to, The Birds of Prey, Free Flight Presentation on Kangaroo Island in South Australia. This dear little owl which some us were fortunate to pat, including me, (he was so soft), or capture with our cameras as he flew from lap to lap at will, was surely a memorable moment seen by all but especially those who had their cameras at the ready for a special capture to enthrall their family and friends when the vacation comes to a close and home beckons.

I look forward to viewing what you choose for this weeks theme

Photography.

Have Fun and Cheers from Milli.

Images and Words Week 42: My Favourite Season

We are just one week away from Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere in South Australia and this got me to thinking how beautiful Autumn can be in our part of the World.

A  good Autumn here would be likened to an Indian Summer and sunsets at this particular time of the year until April, can be quite spectacular and very vibrant, so I will be on the watch out with my camera at the ready, for more of these magic moments to capture in the near future.

However, as I sit here tonight preparing this post I am acutely aware of the insects chorusing outside in the garden, singing their shrilling little chorus, for all who wish to listen. Cicadas and crickets sing out loudly, in the cool of this beautiful Summer evening. Their little songs don't go unnoticed by me, as their harmony persists and permeates through the calmness and quiet of my immediate surroundings in this gentle and melodic moment. Such a lovely time to write this post.

This week I have chosen my Images and Words photo from a previous Autumn and now once again I look forward to the return of

 My Favourite Season Autumn.

Now it is your turn as I ask you to present for this week's Images and Words

Your Favourite Season of the Year.

Enjoy Your Week and Cheers From Milli .

Welcome To Week 35 ~ I&W 2010 Calendar

Welcome To the First of Our Images & Words For 2010.

The Beginning of A New Decade and with many images under most of our belts from the last decade, so to speak, I thought it would be fun to submit an Images and Words post this week in the theme of a I&W Members Calendar.

So what I propose that you do is find a photo from your collection for any month of the year, give it a quote of your own or from another and post it on your blog. It will be a thrill to see all of the months of the year filling Our Calender and if at all possible to bring the images and Words Calendar into an album here on the Group site..

Don't Forget to tell us what month your I&W represents and try to find a photo that you could look at time and time again just the same way you do with a beautifully presented calendar that you have positioned proudly in your own home.

Let us all have fun and be wonderfully inspired and creative this week.

Happy 2010 to All

Love from Milli.
