Images & Words 85 # Let There Be Light!

Welcome to Images & Words this week coming to you from Australia.

I thought as this will be the post before Christmas that we might use the festive lights we see around us as a base for our theme this week. I have used a candle because of the ambient light it sheds ever so softly on all that is placed nearby. Your task is to either light a candle or candles and play around with different angles for lighting purposes until you find your desired effect or if you have another idea for a festive light image by all means use that. Choose a quote or write your own quote and let us join together and spread the light across Multiply.

Thank you Laurie for your fun two part theme last week.

Have Fun and Enjoy your Festivities in the Coming Week.

Light, Love and Peace to All.

Milli.

For the Ambient effect on my photo I did not use my flash. I let the candle do the lighting.

The Rules:

Each week we will post an original photo with words on it. The idea behind this group is to expand our minds through our photography.

Photos must be your own, but the words can be someone else's as long as credit is given after the words.

Your post can either be serious, or if you'd like comical, but never obscene .

Posts can either have one word on them, quotes, or full poems ... Your choice.

All posts are to be done on your own site in a blog form with a link back to it being left here.

New topics will be posted on Sundays.

Posts can be made through Saturday.

One post per person only please.

  11. Beautiful photo! It's morning here so for me to light candles and photograph them I'd need to wait until dark, but I'm tempted to use an evening balloon photo.

  20. This was probably one of the funner challenges, because I knew what I wanted to accomplish going into it, when I saw the theme, and I'm thrilled that I pretty much got what I was trying to get!

  21. Ok... I've played with enough fire, I should have burnt fingers. I've played with enough light, I should be blind. But I'm just fine and dandy. Hope you like...

  26. I have to share this!!! I took a photo as the sun was setting and it's beautiful rays of light came thru my dining room window and danced and kissed a poinsettia arraangement on my kitchen counter. The warmth and tranquility we feel from a sunrise or set is magical.along with radiantly beautiful. Since this week's theme was LET THERE BE LIGHT, I had to share this. ( I know we are supposed to only do one post......BUT !!!!! And I also realize everyone is pressed for time this week. So only if you have time..come and peek......it's a one time shot!

  27. Hi Laurie, because we all love to create in this group it is fantastic when we have tried new ways of creating and loved what we have done so much that we want to keep our experiments and share them further. Keep working on lighting as I have found that some of my best photos are that way because the lighting was perfect for the subject matter.
I understand how busy everyone is this time of the year and always appreciate the submissions that do come along for the group.
It is always fabulous to see every-ones personal interpretation of any given theme.
    I Love That!

  29. I love your photo Milli and the example it set for us. It's warmth is reflected beautiful in your quote. Try as I may I couldn't get anything particularly interesting and certainly not original. I cheated, M'lady but I did play wiht light.
