IMAGES & WORDS WEEK 84: On the 12th day/twist/ Secret Santa (READ)

Laurie here, tickled to be your guest host this week.

Due to bad weather coming tomorrow 40 mph winds and dropping temps I'm posting early .

Hopefully I'll not lose power.

Here's what I have in mind:

PART ONE:

On the 12th day of December what did your mood show you?  What did you show your mood?

Are you over joyous singing Christmas songs and hymns or are you stressed out ready to blow up or kick over your neighbors Santa and tiny reindeer?

Whether or not you partake in the holiday you are affected by the hustle and bustle of the season.

Either there is someone missing, you are feeling like a scrooge or you're humming,  bursting with joy or stressed waiting your turn in line.

Show us your mood at the time you post (between now and 12:01 am 12/15)

Here's the real challenge: PART TWO

THEN:  I challenge you to spread GOODWILL towards your fellow group members.

Between the 15th and 16th:

Take the person above your post and either improve their spirit or commiserate with them with a photo greeting.

Even if you've never had much contact with this group member OR if you've had a fallen out,

with a "reason for the season" greeting

I will visit and send photo greeting

to the last member who posts their "MOOD"  between 11:59 12/14 and 12:01 am 12/15

On the 16th if you wish to post your link here to your greeting card and photo to the person/member above you, go for it.  It's kind of a not so secret Santa.

PLEASE MAKE AN EFFORT TO MAKE THIS GOODWILL TOWARDS YOUR FELLOW HUMAN BEING, OUR GROUP MEMBERS.

Thank you

12-05-2010 115

Today I'm melancholy. I know definitely my youngest won't be home.  My oldest, maybe not but at least he's with his wife and baby girls - NOT in the sand.

Been apart before but our hearts connect.  If you can't read the lyrics, it's ok.  It's a Van Morrison tune called "Into The Mystic"

The Rules:

The Rules: Each week we will post an original photo with words on it. The idea behind this group is to expand our minds through our photography. Photos must be your own, but the words can be someone else's as long as credit is given after the words. Your post can either be serious, or if you'd like comical, but never obscene . Posts can either have one word on them, quotes, or full poems ... Your choice. All posts are to be done on your own site in a blog form with a link back to it being left here. New topics will be posted on Sundays. Each week we will post an original photo with words on it. The idea behind this group is to expand our minds through our photography.

  2. Beautiful photo and intriguing theme! I'm tempted to post the photo I took today of our first ever brunch featuring our chickens' eggs! We went all out with Christmas table linens, fresh flowers in a vase that I made, our good table ware, crystal champagne glasses filled with Prosecco (sparkling cider for the boys). Tomorrow if all goes well we're supposed to get our Christmas tree. Which will win out?

I'm looking forward to all the good cheer :-)

  3. Did I create some confusion?

Between now and 12/15 Post your mood and leave a link

between 12/15 and the 16th send a greeting to the group member who left their link to their post to their mood
before you posted your link to your mood

on the 16th if you wish. post your link to to your greeting to the group member...

this gives you two opportunities if not many

  6. Hello Laurie and Welcome. What a fabulously fun theme you have chosen and I like the idea of the secret santa so to speak.
My mood is displayed here on my post....
    Images & Words 84 ~ On The 12TH Day
Might I say that your mood shows extremely well in your lake side scene.
Breezy salt filled air and the beautiful cloud filled sky will bring with it a myriad of changes as is seen down by the seaside.
Beautifully presented Laurie but always remember, melancholy is just a moment in time.

  7. Hi Laurie, what a great theme you propose to us! It fits perfectly the spirit of the season!
The photo you posted is very nice and it definitely conveys the sense of someone who is melancholy.

  12. sorry D....Lake Michigan is fresh water only

    ReplyDelete
  13. thanks for the heads up, fixed now

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ah thanks Dana I need to change it to lake side.
As for the rest of the comment, I mention it as how I see it by the seaside in general. Laurie's gorgeous photo brought this to mind.
We do have huge salt lakes in Australia as well as fresh water lakes.
Lake Eyre being an example of how as the water level decreases the salt levels increase but to no level greater than sea water.
Thanks for the history lesson. :) Appreciated.

  15. Laurie what a neat idea.
I just love your picture and the Van Morrison song.

  16. Laurie...question.....does it matter if we view chronological or reverse if we participate in the greeting on the 15th?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think so everyone who participates gets a greeting it works best if you send a greeting to the person above you who left a link to their entry
and I'll take the last person.

    ReplyDelete
  18. but....the person above would be different if we view chronological or reverse.................sooooooooo, are you suggesting a particular means of viwing on this page? If we don't all view the same way.....could get 'hairy..lol

    ReplyDelete
  19. lol I didn't realise this. I've always viewed chronological so I guess I'll go chronoLOGICally lolololol

    ReplyDelete
  20. phewwwwwwwwww...lmao.....and i view reverse....see da prob now?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hell, I'll just go to the one above AND below me, that'll solve that, LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think thats sweet, spread the cheer.

    ReplyDelete
  23. So, do we do the next comment, or the next comment with a link?

  24. Lanie this morning I woke up with a splitting headache. It worked itself from the top of my head down to the neck and into my shoulder.
Then accidentally while I was bending over to move my shoes so my husband wouldn't trip over them, I came up as he pulled something
out of his coat pocket. I took an elbow full force to my right cheek in the face. I saw stars, he panicked and all I could do was burst out
laughing. But it hurts and you and Linda are making me think too hard.

    ReplyDelete
  25. BIG OUCH....but good reason for some holiday spirits ( the liquid kind LOL) hope the pain has subsided.Nothing like having your face in the wrong place at the wrong time! Silly girl.....next time move da shoes wiff yer feet.....not yer face!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hope the weather is being good to you. I see you got in coming at you head on still. You Ninja. I could just picture the elbow and the body slam you threw back, Just kidding. But I know the thought was there for a second. KILL~!

BAZ folks may have missed your Part 1 Beautiful Mood... please edit that post to Include your link to that...

    ReplyDelete
  41. I wish not to make this complicated....BUT.......I really would like my contacts and friends to be able to see the greeting made for me by Lanie..........perhaps others share my thought on this. SO>>>>>>>>>>would any of you have a problem if we posted the link to our greeting back to your page so we could share your creativity and personal greeting?

    ReplyDelete
  42. You're welcome. Glad you liked your card....

    ReplyDelete
  43. Laurie....might i suggest that you remind members who wish to send a personal greeting that ...... 1. make sure you are viewing comment section in CHRONOLGICAL ORDER and 2. When you drop YOUR link to part one of the challenge, it is the person ABOVE you who has dropped their link( not just made a comment) to their part one that you are creating and sending a personalized greeting to.

    ReplyDelete
  44. to further help clear the confusion.....Lanie created a greeting for me........however, if you will note the very person above Lanie is ethansdad54................BUT, he did NOT drop a link.he merely made a comment. I was the next person above Lanie to have dropped my link..does that help any? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  45. So do I need to go make Dana (ethansdad54) one too?

    I'm so confused....

    ReplyDelete
  46. Dana did NOT drop a link....he simply made a comment..............the 1st person above you to drop a link was ME.( END OF STORY......ROFLMAO )

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ya know...I think we are all a bit brain dead......actually.......there is NO WAY error could be made if we viewed, THREADED. For example Lanie, if you view THREADED you will note Dana is NO longer above you.......but I am directly above because i dropped a thread. OMG...how freakin cool is THAT!!......LOLLLLLLLLL

    ReplyDelete
  48. Is it the cocktail hour yet? just wonderin'...........lol

    ReplyDelete
  49. I dunno, but I think I need one...

  60. Aside from the fact it would be very time consuming to send personalized greetings out to each and every member, there are many here that do not ordinarily leave their site open to anyone not on their contact list. But I wanted to send all a greeting . If you do not celebrate Christmas then call it a celebration of life, but whatever you call it may you walk in happiness , love, and laughter as you do in the wind, the sun, or the rain. May this group be blessed this day , the new year to come, and all the days that follow~ Warm hugs to each of you.....Linda
