Images and Words: Week 89 - A JOURNEY THROUGH...

Hello from Portugal. Welcome to week 89 of Images and Words.
I thought I would give you a fairly broad spectrum for this week’s IMAGES AND WORDS.
As we are all in a journey in life, I have chosen the theme
‘A JOURNEY THROUGH...’
I am ready to join you on your JOURNEY THROUGH... Nature? Light? Darkness? Time? History? Art?...?...?

The photo I have chosen below was taken on Terceira Island (Azores), last May.  Every autumn and spring migrating butterflies go on journeys that still hold mystery about how their  winter haven is passed down from generation to generation. When I saw that butterfly on the hydrangea (the national flower of the Portuguese archipelago) not only did I think of their long journeys but the others they always make…

Enjoy!
Cheers from Belita

The Rules:

Each week we will post an original photo with words on it.
The idea behind this group is to expand our minds through our photography.
Photos must be your own, but the words can be someone else's as long as credit is given after the words. Your post can either be serious, or if you'd like comical, but never obscene.
Posts can either have one word on them, quotes, or full poems ... Your choice.
All posts are to be done on your own site in a blog form with a link back to it being left here.
New topics will be posted on Sundays.
Posts can be made through Saturday.
One post per person only please.

  5. Pleased to know you like the theme. It's a great pleasure to host this challenge. Time to thank the Administration for having given me the chance. Regarding the image and words, well, I tried to do my best and my muse helped me a lot.

  18. A very lovely shot, Belita. The colors are so bright and beautiful. I love the framing, too...very complimentary.
    Thanks for hosting this week!

Sorry for the recent mix up on my site. I was upset over some recent family matters and had tried to delete my site, but my youngest son decided to lock me out of my account so that I wouldn't delete my poetry and photography. Very wise, heh? He knew that I would regret it. Please disregard the new site and invitations. I'll delete that one.

  25. Belita this is an awesome theme!

One of the most beautiful haikus I've ever read. Love the photo and beautiful words. Gosh I can't wait to see the insects, birds... visiting my gardens again and my variety of plants flowers blooming. What's sunshine look like? lolololol we've ony had a few sparse glances of it in over a week.

I don't have an entry yet but I am excited about this week. Don't know if I want to use an old photo or go out and see what may catch my fancy

  26. Whatever you decide to post, either it is an old or new photo, we all be pleased to see... have a nice day!

  27. My note didn't "take." Let me try again.

The concept of romance turning dust into haze is an interesting one. Truly, the haze over your trees seems quite romantic.

  28. I'm back with mine too. Sorry yesterday was a me and husband day watching playoffs. I felt like such a "guy" beer on one side of me on an end table, both recliners up on the love seat, chocolate lab on the other side of me. The only thing I didn't do was put my hand in my pants....

Today was a mom day. I drove over to her house, poked her to make sure she was alive (lololololol) she woke up laughing. I delivered her homemade chicken & noodle soup with homemade dumplings. Then we played her rummicube game.

  30. For those of you concerned that I'm inviting birds into my garden for my cats to catch, Sparkie can't catch birds due to a devastating injury suffered in her kittenhood before we adopted her. Casey can catch birds but I place my bird attracting features in the open where it's difficult for Casey to ambush them. Plus studies show that even with the occasional loss of a bird due to cat predation, the bird populations overall benefit from a bird friendly garden.

  31. I love the challenge Belita and your example is wonderful. Sweet scented, butterfly attracting blooms will soon ag'n be part of my journey here, but for now it's just dead branches and slight new growth. here's mine for the week.
