Images and Words week 98: Uplifting

Greetings from Amy!

I have been put through the emotional ringer for the past three months and I really need my spirits lifted, so I thought that "uplifting" would make a great theme!  I can't think of anything more uplifting than hot air balloons, of course!

When I took this photo I knew that I would eventually pair it with this song because it's about flying in the evening.  Plus the music in the design of the balloon in front (named Martha's Mink) is this song!

Here's the full set of lyrics:
Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon
Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon
We could float among the stars together, you and I
For we can fly we can fly
Up, up and away
My beautiful, my beautiful balloon
The world's a nicer place in my beautiful balloon
It wears a nicer face in my beautiful balloon
We can sing a song and sail along the silver sky
For we can fly we can fly
Up, up and away
My beautiful, my beautiful balloon
Suspended under a twilight canopy
We'll search the clouds for a star to guide us
If by some chance you find yourself loving me
We'll find a cloud to hide us
We'll keep the moon beside us
Love is waiting there in my beautiful balloon
Way up in the air in my beautiful balloon
If you'll hold my hand we'll chase your dream across the sky
For we can fly we can fly
Up, up and away
My beautiful, my beautiful balloon
Balloon...
Up, up, and away.....

Here are the rules:

Each week we will post an original photo with words on it. The idea behind this group is to expand our minds through our photography.

Photos must be your own, but the words can be someone else's as long as credit is given after the words.

Your post can either be serious, or if you'd like comical, but never obscene .

Posts can either have one word on them, quotes, or full poems ... Your choice.

All posts are to be done on your own site in a blog form with a link back to it being left here.

New topics will be posted on Sundays.

Posts can be made through Saturday.

One post per person only please.

I hope you will enjoy this theme!

  1. I remember singing this tune in my 2nd moms convertible. My family doctors wife, my family doctor was my second family . Very cool Amy... very cool and relaxing and free. Sorry I haven't been around commenting on your recent events causing sadness and stress. Been trying like hell to relieve stress, sh(t, problems from everyone in my zip code and beyond lately.

Beautiful theme, photo and uplift for all of us. I hope many jump on board. I know I will after tomorrow, hopefully.

    Wonderful! Hugs and happy chicks

  3. I tried to post a comment earlier, but it was lost in whatever game Multiply is playing these days. In any case, I wanted to say what a good topic this is - a challenging one, though. You've illustrated it beautifully, Amy.

    is just perfect.
You can photograph anything and make it beautiful.
Of course the night shot of the balloons is so striking with the rich colors.
