Welcome to this weeks Images & Words.
I wish to thank Lynda for hosting here last week. I hope that she and her husband had a great Celebration Together.
This week I am inviting you all to submit anything you have that is to do with Bricks and Mortar.
Another thought I wish to pass by you all is whether or not you would like to do a special photo for 11/11/11 next month?
Last Year we did the 10/10/10 date and it was a fantastic experience for us all to view this auspicious date as seen through the lens of your cameras. If you like the idea of doing this again I am happy to collate all the photos submitted. Just indicate your preference in the comments section below. Also any ideas that you might have can also be discussed here too.
If you love Images & Words why not invite your friends to participate with us.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the 11/11/11 and seeing your Bricks and Mortar posts for this week
Cheers From Milli x
Each week we will post an original photo with words on it. The idea behind this group is to expand our minds through our photography.
Photos must be your own, but the words can be someone else's as long as credit is given after the words.
Your post can either be serious, or if you'd like comical, but never obscene .
Posts can either have one word on them, quotes, or full poems ... Your choice.
All posts are to be done on your own site in a blog form with a link back to it being left here.
New topics will be posted on Sundays.
Posts can be made through Saturday.
One post per person only please.
Thanks Milli! What a lovely old brick structure you have depicted here...
ReplyDeleteAs for the 11 numbers, how would you suggest they could be illustrated?
Maybe I have no imagination this time of night lol
I like the idea of an 11/11/11 project. Count me in.
ReplyDeleteNow, I'm off to look for brick and mortar suitable to the occasion.

Hi Mia this photo is a piece of South Australian history in a small town called Armagh. These are ruins of an interesting building and chimney.
ReplyDeleteThe 11/11/11 project is really only about taking a photo of what you are doing or where you are on that date and you can use your cameras date and time and leave it on your photo or you can use another means by showing the date and even time too if you wish. It was good fun last year and from memory you could not join because of some problems there.
Thanks Virginia...I will certainly count you in.
ReplyDeleteLOL good then we expect some great B&M's from you Anders.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dana..waiting.

ReplyDeleteThanks Lanie..much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteMilli, Dana explained that the building you posted above was used for making brick. Oh, that's quite the capture. The sepia treatment truly adds to its antiquity.
ReplyDeletejust assuming....some kind of kiln for sure....
ReplyDeleteHere is my entry:

Yes it is a chimney and I also assume it is a kiln of some kind.
ReplyDeleteI have tried to find out exactly what they did make there and will let you know here once I have the answer.
I thought that it might be best posted as a sepia as it dates back to mid 1800s and was built by the first settlers in the Valley.
Have fun everyone...Bed time here. Bye for now.
ReplyDeletegreat photo and words milli! love old structures like that one and you captured the feeling of it beautifully both in the photo and the editing!

I think that I have caught up for now and remember you are not late coming here because we are open all week until the next theme is up.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to announce that I will have the job of hosting on the 13th of November and will announce now that the Theme will be 11/11/11 for those who wish to play along.
However if this is not your idea of fun then the option is pot luck where you will post what it is that you wish to post for the theme.
I am playing. That is my Sons birthday.
ReplyDeleteIt will be fun.....11- 11- 11......
Putting my thinking cap on ! ?????
I couldnt resist to show something from my hometown - Tønsberg - Norway. This represent alot of history, but then I would need to make a blog :))

Sue I am so pleased that you are playing on such a special day for you and your son.
ReplyDeleteI am giving everyone time to put on their thinking caps but if last year was any measure then I know that the creative juices will be flowing and the result will be fantastic.
Hope to see some of yours later guys. Here's mine.
