Images & Words --- Vintage Buildings or Structures (Week 38)

Welcome back to week thirty eight and it is time for me to host again. This week I chose Vintage Buildings as our topic. My shot is from last Sunday at the old Quaker Church in Perryoppolis PA. I wish I could hear the stories this building could tell. This is supposedly haunted but I have been there twice now and the only thing scary was the parking.

The Rules:

Each week we will post an original photo with words on it. The idea behind this group is to expand our minds through our photography.

Photos must be your own, but the words can be someone else's as long as credit is given after the words.

Your post can either be serious, or if you'd like comical, but never obscene .

Posts can either have one word on them, quotes, or full poems ... Your choice.

All posts are to be done on your own site in a blog form with a link back to it being left here.

New topics will be posted on Sundays.

Posts can be made through Saturday.

One post per person only please.

Oops! I got so caught up in pasting my link before I lost it that I forgot to tell you how much I like your picture. Is that a dairy barn? It looks like one. It also looks like it would be wonderful if someone were to convert it into a home. Wouldn't that be fun!!!

  11. Joel, this is an eerie and yet mysterious home, I think the mystery of abandon homes is fascinating...Awesome theme, awesome words and photo from you!

  12. I don't think it's a dairy barn because they tend to have four large conical vents on top. This looks similar a small guest house in which my brother used to live--it had two chimneys, one on each end of the house, just like this building. One of the chimneys was in the kitchen for cooking, and the other was in the main living space for warmth.

  15. This was actually a Quaker Church and then meeting hall. It sits right in the middle of an old cemetery. Not sure I would want to live in it myself has a very eerie feeling to it inside.

  19. This is such a cool theme Joel. And this photo and your choice of words makes me wish we lived a little closer. GORGEOUS!

Wish the weather was better to go knock something out I sort of had worked out in my mind. But instead... ya'll get a photo I took 10 days ago on a dreary cold hike... but the hiking was fantastic. Friend + trails + perhaps an adult beverage or two = my kind of exercising
