Images & Words --- I Wish For 2011 (Week 87)

Welcome to the start of a New Year here at Images & Words. First let me thank Amy for our new banner it is gorgeous !!!! This week I was debating several things being the first post for 2011 and all. I've been thinking about for a couple weeks actually and I kept coming back to this topic I Wish For 2011. So bring it on what is your wish for the world..yourself... your family.. a friend...

The Rules:

Each week we will post an original photo with words on it. The idea behind this group is to expand our minds through our photography.

Photos must be your own, but the words can be someone else's as long as credit is given after the words.

Your post can either be serious, or if you'd like comical, but never obscene .

Posts can either have one word on them, quotes, or full poems ... Your choice.

All posts are to be done on your own site in a blog form with a link back to it being left here.

New topics will be posted on Sundays.

Posts can be made through Saturday.

One post per person only please.

  1. Happy New Year Joel and To All Our Images & Words Friends.
I could make a few wishes myself and this is a great way to start off the New Year.
I love our new Banner Thank You Amy.
Joel I think your wishes on your wild and wonderful photo pretty much sums it up for many of us.

  2. it is a great banner...wonder who will complain that it promotes drinking?

  3. It is ginger ale in the glasses who doesn't like ginger ale.

May we all be provided with the tools and the strength to take on the adversities that may come our way in the new year. May those things that touch our hearts and give us inner peace, be abundant and appreciated! HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL~ warm hugs !

Be back if I can think of something...fuzz in the brain yet~ LOL

Oh boy....I was naughty and used what I did for another group last week. It is perfect for this theme....I know many have already seen it.........but I think it is important that we have this in our maybe it's worth repeating?

Images & Words~ I Wish for 2011 to Have BALANCE

  11. I wish the same for you. Happy New Year. I have chosen an Irish blessing. It's my wish for everyone here.

  12. What a lovely and festive banner. Wonderful shot Amy.
Joel, I love your words and great shot, although I'm shivering by just looking at it :-))).

  13. Great Challenge! *puts thinking cap on* *cheats for ideas by looking at other's finished work* ! :)~

That banner is FABULOUS! Truly perfect!

  14. What a lovely wish ..... wonderful words Joel!! Love it.
A perfect banner Amy .... great shot!

  15. LOL! Actually, some of the glasses do have sparkling cider rather than champagne. I seem to recall that I was sick and on meds so my glass had sparkling cider in it (the glass nearest the camera being held by my left hand so I could shoot with my right hand), plus my kids were drinking sparkling cider, but the rest of the adults did drink champagne. So, I like to think that it promotes responsible drinking :-)

I'm glad that everyone is enjoying the new banner! It was actually a champagne brunch which I Photoshopped like crazy to make it look like night.

Joel, I love your photo and your wish! I'll be back later with mine :-)

  16. I'll take cider...can't stand ginger ale

  17. I love the banner and your photo with wish, Joel. The one with the itty bitty life saving tube still is my favorite (it tickles my sense of humor). I also love this assignment for the upcoming year for the comradeship of the group.

  18. I finally got mine done. Had some issues with the internet this took forever to get my photo done! LOL

  19. I finally got my pics downloaded to my
puter. Joel your picture is wonderful and words are so true.

  22. The new banner is terrific, It's perfect for the first banner of the year, as is your theme Joel.

The photo is perfect for your wish, a very high bar you set for the week.

    Happy New Year to everyone.

  23. your door is locked, Sophie...can't get in !

  24. Wonderful idea. Love your wonderful words and great choice of pic. I had some difficulty finding a photo to fit the bill so I took one especially for this week's IAWs.

    Here is mine:

A really appropriate banner for this edition of Images & Words.

  25. Joel, I had a really great idea for this very wonderful theme but my hubby hurt is back, my son got sick, my other son had two fish die, and I had to repaint almost the entire restaurant! So I ran out of time. I might post an entry very late, or I might just save my idea for another theme, cuz I know that you'll really like it :-)

  26. please do Amy because now I am very curious to see it too. *smile sorry to hear about all your trouble, my gosh, all on one day ???

  27. Thanks. I'll give you a hint, it has to do with ballooning (shock!). It wasn't all in one day, it was all in one week. I'm happy to say that hubby's back is all better now, he just needed several days of bed rest during which time I had to take care of him and everything else.
